About 45 minutes from our home (by car), you'll find this amazing place; Gårdsjö Moose Park, that has a moose safari! The man that owns the Moose Park, Leffe, started the business around 2007, and last year he had over 17 000 visitors from all over the world.
You sit down on a wagon and are driven out by a tractor to the enclosures where the moose awaits.
There are about 13 moose in these enclosures and they truly are amazing! Huge and impressive! I would be terrified if I met them when being out in the woods picking blueberries! 😱
When they pass you're allowed to touch them, just not on their behind because then they will kick you. 😱
I really had no idea that they come in different colours! Did you? Black, grey, brown or "red". This grey moose was 11 years old and was born with this colour. The little brown calf was born on May 9th, and her name's Queen. Super cute!
All the moose are bottle fed and raised in the enclosures and are therefore accustom to people being around and bare no aggressions towards people although having calfs.
